Zoning board continues La Baren Hill residences hearing to Feb. 27
Summary

The Town of Lakeville Zoning Board of Appeals on Jan. 28 agreed to continue the hearing on an application for residences associated with La Baren Hill LLC until Feb. 27 at the Lakeville Public Library.
The applicant, Mohammed Itani, identified himself as a managing member of Baton Health LLC and told the board the submission reflects the same plans provided at the prior hearing. “We have 2 buildings, on property that that was part of the original, plans ... So we're not asking for any additional units,” Itani said, referring to earlier approvals and noting the change from three buildings to two after the board’s prior direction.
The continuance followed a procedural discussion about quorum: a board member announced they were recusing themselves and would be absent, and the board confirmed an absent member had missed prior meetings. The chair and counsel advised the applicant the panel could proceed with four members but that the missing member could not participate in any eventual vote if they were not present. The applicant asked to present plans and then defer final action; ultimately he requested a continuance and the board moved, seconded and voted to continue the item to the Feb. 27 meeting.
The board and applicant agreed the project materials will go to the review engineer and the peer-review comments will be circulated so the applicant can respond before the next meeting. The applicant said engineering is complete and will incorporate the peer-review feedback.
The board’s motion to continue was made and seconded; members present voted in favor and the motion carried unanimously. The item will be returned to the Feb. 27 agenda for further review and potential action.
