Planning commission recommends approval for County Line Records’ move to 600 N. Main

The Keller Planning and Zoning Commission on Jan. 28 recommended approval of a specific-use permit allowing County Line Records to sell used goods at a new lease space at 600 North Main Street.
The recommendation was unanimous. Staff said the business would occupy an existing 25,100-square-foot lease space and would sell records, CDs, cassettes and music-related novelty items. City staff said there were no planned exterior modifications and that the applicant had provided hours of operation: Monday–Friday 11 a.m.–6 p.m., Saturday 10:30 a.m.–6 p.m. and Sunday 1 p.m.–5:30 p.m.
County Line Records previously operated under an SUP at 148 South Elm Street approved by city council in July 2023 and presented testimony that construction on Elm Street and difficulty accessing the Old Town location motivated the move. Owner Larissa Holder told the commission the business wanted to remain in Keller and sought approval to relocate.
Under the Unified Development Code, sale of used goods in certain commercial zoning districts requires an SUP. City staff summarized the review criteria and noted staff received no letters of support or opposition from property owners within the mailed notification area.
The commission’s recommendation will be forwarded to the Keller City Council on Feb. 18 for the final decision.
Votes at a glance: the commission recommended approval of the SUP by unanimous vote. The motion to approve was made from the dais and seconded; the motion passed and will be forwarded to city council.
