DPW plans phased work at Vaughan Mall; committee wants early input on art integration

Committee chair Chris said the underground work must proceed to address infrastructure, and that above-ground improvements could follow the municipal schedule: “the thinking on Von Moll is to do the underground work in the spring of 2025 and be able to put that back together for the summer tourism season. And then final above ground work, may be scheduled for spring of 2026,” she said. Members noted that design decisions made now could affect public-art opportunities and requested a liaison to DPW.
The committee identified Nancy, Kate and Alyssa as potential contacts to meet with DPW and requested staff track the Capital Improvement Plan and any RFPs or planning documents as they are released. No formal project plan or budget change was presented at the meeting; members said they would follow up with DPW staff as a project plan is developed.
