CVB outlines Mountaineer Gravel guidebook, March wayfinding meeting and airport visitor support

The Monongalia County Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) told council it has launched a Mountaineer Gravel digital guide of 28 gravel biking routes covering more than 1,000 miles, will hold a county wayfinding meeting March 21 and is coordinating airport visitor promotions.
Catherine Carter, destination development coordinator at the Monongalia County Convention & Visitors Bureau, gave the Committee of the Whole a short update on tourism projects the CVB is advancing: a Mountaineer Gravel digital guidebook, a county wayfinding effort and airport visitor experience coordination.
Carter said the Mountaineer Gravel package consists of 28 gravel biking routes that together total more than 1,000 miles on public lands and are organized into seven regional hubs, including Morgantown as one hub. The CVB plans a Mountaineer Country Tourism Summit on May 5 to promote the product and to explain how businesses can benefit from the routes.
On wayfinding, Carter said a Monongalia County wayfinding meeting is set for March 21 at 11:30 a.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn; the meeting is intended to convene municipalities and tourism partners and include experts on wayfinding. Carter said the CVB will continue to work informally with the city and will return to council with more updates.
Carter also said the CVB is assisting the Morgantown Municipal Airport in promoting new air service and is collecting visitor feedback about arrival experiences; she said printed rack cards were available for distribution to city information racks.
