Commissioners approved payment of the semiannual Cook bond installment, listed in the meeting as $84,250, and directed staff to pay the standard half of the year's People’s State Bank bookkeeping fee. Commissioners said People’s State Bank charges about $300 per year for administration; the commission approved paying half of that amount in the current cycle.
The commission also passed a motion giving staff authority, limited to predictable and repetitive obligations, to approve and sign such claims during the year — a standard administrative practice the commission said avoids late payments when scheduling prevents a timely meeting. The motion was restricted to known recurring items (for example, the Cook bond payment, bank fees and routine media-notification fees) and did not extend to new or one-off claims.
Chair members reviewed a brief financial report showing the county’s three bank accounts and year-end interest, and commissioners voted to accept the report as presented.
All motions recorded in the meeting passed by voice vote with commissioners saying "Aye."
