Bobby Gillen, incoming president of the Greater Biloxi Economic Development Foundation, told the Biloxi City Council the reconstituted group of business owners and community leaders is focused on encouraging economic and community growth in Biloxi and the surrounding area.
Gillen said the foundation has a “storied history” in the city and that a new core group of entrepreneurs, property owners and community leaders has rebranded the organization. He invited council members to attend monthly board meetings and said the foundation has both “money and ideas” and wants to work with the city and the chamber of commerce to support local projects.
The mayor thanked Gillen for the presentation. No formal council action was required or taken on the presentation.
