St. Mary's Recreation and Parks Board approves alcohol permits for five Friends of the Museum events

The board approved permits for: the Friends' annual meeting and social at St. Clements Island Museum (indoor, no alcohol sales); the Potomac Jazz & Seafood Festival on July 12 (approximately 800 attendees and a planned sale of alcohol, for which the Friends will also seek a permit from the Alcoholic Beverage Board); a Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours event on July 23 at St. Clements Island Museum; a murder-mystery dinner fundraiser at Piney Point Lighthouse Museum on Sept. 13; and the annual Blessing of the Fleet sponsored by the 7th District Optimist Club, Oct. 3–5.
Board members moved and seconded motions to approve each permit; the transcript records voice votes on each and the chair called them carried or approved. The Friends will be responsible for complying with any state or county requirements tied to those permits and, where applicable, for obtaining an Alcoholic Beverage Board license to sell alcohol at the Potomac Jazz & Seafood Festival.
