Representative Hamrick introduced representatives of Aurora Mental Health & Recovery during the House session on Jan. 27 and described the behavioral health services the organization provides across multiple counties.
On the floor, Representative Hamrick said Aurora Mental Health & Recovery served "nearly 19,000 people" last year and provides crisis services, substance-use treatment and some inpatient programs. He said the organization is building a crisis and acute care center with 16 crisis stabilization beds, 45 detox beds and 24/7 crisis and walk-in services, and that the center is expected to open in early 2026. Former Representative Debbie Stafford was identified as leading the organization’s delegation on the floor.
Representative Hamrick asked members to welcome the visitors and noted the center will provide a single access point for crisis and acute care in the community. The floor introduction was an announcement and did not include state approvals, funding details, zoning, permitting status, or a firm opening date beyond the "early 2026" timeframe reported on the floor.
