Senator Sullivan announced a gun violence prevention caucus "lunch and learn" on Wednesday, Jan. 29, from noon to 1 p.m. in room 112; legislators may RSVP for boxed lunches. Senator Winter invited colleagues to an Affordable Energy Coalition event the same evening hosted by AARP, A Precious Child, Colorado Children's Campaign, Energy Outreach, Colorado Growing Home, Interfaith Alliance, We Cycle, and World Food Bank at 303 East 17th Avenue.
Senator Simpson reported the results of the junior livestock auction and fundraising, saying the Senate purchased a lamb, a hog and a steer and noting a record sale of a grand-champion steer for $210,000. Simpson also credited a large contribution when he said, "thanks to the good senator from North Peltonia's $500,000 contribution," which he said helped the chamber's bidding.
On formal business, Senator Liston moved that "the Senate Journal of January 24, 2025 be approved as corrected by the secretary." The motion passed on voice vote; the transcript records the ayes and the president's announcement that "the ayes have it" but does not list a roll-call tally. Later, Majority Leader Rodriguez moved to adjourn; that motion likewise passed and the Senate recessed until 9 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2025.
