Dearborn City Council adopts ordinances, accepts grants and approves contracts in unanimous session

Dearborn City Council on Jan. 28, 2025 approved a series of ordinances, grants, contracts and appointments in a meeting that concluded with unanimous roll calls on the major items.

The council adopted three ordinances on final reading: an ordinance establishing a formal transition process for newly elected officials (Ordinance No. 24‑18‑35), an amendment to allow indoor recreational uses as a special land use in the city’s IA (light industrial) zoning district (Ordinance No. 24‑18‑36), and an amendment to the nuisance chapter to strengthen dust-control enforcement on paved, partially paved, unpaved and storage lots (Ordinance No. 24‑18‑37). Each ordinance passed on final reading with the clerk recording seven yeas.
