Leah Perkins Hegley, venue manager for Westside Commons and fair manager to the Washington County Fair Board, told the Board of Commissioners that the Fair Board had three candidates for two open seats and recommended reappointing incumbent Bob Rolinger and appointing newcomer Jason Herrings.

Hegley said Rolinger and Mitch Nussbaum were both interested in returning and described Herrings as “a good fit” who, with his family, has been a longtime volunteer with the Washington County Fair and 4‑H. She identified the staff and Fair Board leadership recommendation as reappointment for Rolinger and appointment of Herrings.

Chair Harrington and at least one commissioner signaled support; the item was noted to return for formal action at the board’s Jan. 28 meeting. No vote or final appointment occurred at the session where the recommendation was presented.

The matter will appear on the board agenda for action on Jan. 28, per staff; any final appointments will be recorded then in the official minutes.
