New county board chairman Jared Glenn introduces himself, pledges cooperation with city

Jared Glenn, recently elected chairman of the Logan County Board, introduced himself to the City Council Committee of the Whole on Jan. 28 and said he intends to improve communication and collaboration between county and city governments.
Glenn said he and Mayor Tracy Welch have discussed working more closely so the county and the city “are all rowing the boat in the same direction.” He noted that county responsibilities extend to smaller communities such as Atlanta, Mount Pulaski, New Holland and Middletown, but he said Lincoln — as county seat and largest city — is central to countywide efforts.
Glenn told the committee he welcomed a line of communication and asked council members to contact him with questions; the council responded with thanks and said they look forward to future collaboration.
