The Select Board voted Jan. 13 to issue a Class 2 auto license to United Middleborough Petroleum with a 15-vehicle limit after staff visits showed the site was brought into compliance.
The board also recorded that Leonard’s Auto Inc. had resolved a transfer issue after moving the license to Freeman’s, and that matter required no further action. By contrast, the board deferred a final decision on X3 Truck Center after finding continued violations at the lot: Select Board members said the center lacked the required open center lane for emergency access and had excessive vehicles on the lot. Owner/operator Al Carla Russo told the board he needed about seven days to liquidate excess inventory; the board scheduled a follow-up inspection and placed X3 Truck Center on the agenda two weeks later.
Board members emphasized safety and compliance. Staff reminded all Class 2 licensees that the board can revoke a permit if inspections find ongoing violations. The transcript shows staff told the board United Petroleum had been brought into compliance; the motion to grant that license passed unanimously. The X3 Truck Center matter will return to the board after a scheduled inspection; the transcript does not record a final revocation or renewal vote for X3.
