Volunteers with the community blood‑drive organization asked the commission on Jan. 29 to help promote and, if possible, host the group’s Feb. 22 blood drive at Park Lake.
Conrad Bernier and Claude Girard — who said he is a former firefighter in Montreal and a community volunteer — thanked the town for prior support and reported that 104 people donated at last year’s drive. They said demand was strong and organizers expect to raise participation to about 150 donors this year. The group requested the town publish flyers in its weekly review and offered to provide sample materials prior to the event.
The town manager responded that the town could host the drive and make space available at Park Lake, and staff agreed to coordinate with the organizers on promotion and logistics. The commission did not take formal action but welcomed the event and encouraged staff support.
