Pakula said the clerk's office will be trained to use the system so the town could operate it in‑house if it later chose to discontinue outside services.
Commissioners asked about cost and funding. The IT director said the item was not necessarily budgeted across departments; the town manager and finance director indicated there is “wiggle room” inside the commission’s budget to cover the purchase and that staff would not proceed without confirming funding. Commissioners moved to place the item on the consent agenda subject to confirmation of the funding source and contract term (one‑year, renewable options were discussed).
No final contract was signed in the meeting; staff said they were preparing a one‑year contract to allow evaluation before committing to longer terms.
