Oak Creek-Franklin Joint School District Board President Frank Carini announced that the We Energies Foundation has committed $750,000 over three years to the district’s pool project.
Carini said the foundation does not seek naming rights but does want to fund a mural inside the pool. He described the donation as “a wonderful donation” and thanked community members who helped secure it.
The district did not provide further contractual details at the meeting, such as payment schedule, conditions, or whether other private gifts will be solicited. Carini said he reached out to the foundation and that the company is local and “has stepped up.”
Board members framed the gift as helping reduce reliance on potential referendums or other large public funding asks; no formal action on the donation was recorded at the meeting. The district plans updates on the natatorium design and will have consultant Nexus present a design update at an upcoming board meeting.
