Avin, the district’s independent auditor, told the Northbrook SD 28 Board of Education on Jan. 28 that the auditors issued a "clean, unmodified opinion," and found no reportable issues with the district's internal controls or the way the finances are presented.
The auditor said the district's general fund — the main operating fund — had a net increase of $1,800,000 in the year under audit, leaving an ending general fund balance of $22,500,000 and a total districtwide ending fund balance of $25,100,000.
