Weber County names new assessor; contracts aim to keep paramedic response at 8‑minute goal

Jared Preisler was sworn in as Weber County assessor and county officials said recent contracts intended to address a Citygate audit will help preserve an eight‑minute target for paramedic response times.

The county introduced Preisler as the newly sworn‑in assessor; Preisler said he has worked as a residential, certified appraiser for 28 years and that he is "super, super excited" to join the assessor's office. "They are just fantastic, and I can't be happier to come and serve the people of Weber County," Preisler said.

County staff described work on the paramedic program that began after an outside audit by Citygate, a California consulting firm, about 2½ to three years ago. Eli Johnson, a Weber County staff member who worked on the contracts, said the county has been executing contracts in recent weeks to address shortfalls identified in that audit.

"Eight minutes is our goal," Johnson said, referring to the interval from call receipt to paramedics arriving at a scene. Johnson added that "more than 90% of our calls" reach the scene in less than eight minutes, a performance the county described as uncommon nationally. County officials said the recent contracts are intended to help maintain that standard while managing program costs.

The commission recap also listed several other, shorter items reported by staff. Officials said new members were appointed to the Weber‑Morgan Board of Health (names were not specified in the recap). The county described a reinvestment area established at the Ogden municipal airport in cooperation with Ogden City and said it had revised the contract for meal services at the county jail; specific vendors and contract terms were not specified during the recap.
