The Honolulu City Council presented an honorary certificate to Chef Megan Ellis in recognition of her appearance on the 23rd season of Hell's Kitchen in the "Head Chefs Only" edition.
Council members Dos Santos Tam and Andrea Tupala (presenters listed in the meeting) said Ellis brings more than 20 years of experience to the island's culinary scene and serves as executive chef at Kapolei Golf Club. Presenters described Ellis as a co-founder of Taste and said the council was proud she represented Hawaii and native Hawaiians on national television.
Family members and supporters joined Ellis at the chambers, and presenters praised her career, leadership and role-model status for aspiring chefs. The council extended congratulations and invited the public to acknowledge her achievement.
