The owner at that time applied for a demolition permit but failed to act; that permit lapsed and the parcel changed hands. Staff said they served the new corporation and recommended a new demolition declaration if the new owner does not remedy the condition. A nearby property owner who previously complained, identified in the record as Mr. French, was expected to provide further comment at the hearing.
Separately, the clerk announced a public hearing to fix demolition costs for multiple condemned structures across the city, including addresses such as 2257 Clinton Street, 1312 Jesse Street, 1306 Congress Street and others listed on the agenda; the council introduced resolutions to fix costs and proceed with demolition and securing of those structures.
