Bridgeport Borough Council on Jan. 28 approved a set of routine and personnel actions, including ratifying a collective bargaining agreement with Teamsters Local 384 and voting to terminate a police officer.
The council voted on several items with little debate. Council members approved the Jan. 14, 2025, meeting minutes and ratified an agreement with Teamsters Local 384 covering borough employees. The council also approved authorization to host a Red Cross blood drive at Burrow Hall on March 5, and granted a disabled parking space request for 660 Bush Street. Council members approved the borough's bills and salaries for January 2025.
The meeting included a formal disciplinary vote. After an executive session that council said addressed land acquisition and a Bridgeport Police Department personnel matter, the council voted to ratify disciplinary action and terminate Officer Shannon Sowell.
