County staff described a Maryland 135 Pedestrian and Bicycle Pathways concept that would run from Laughlin to the Oakland Town parking lot to connect parks, churches, wellness centers, schools and other community sites. Officials also asked for input on an alternate project to open a connection at Harrington Manor, asking residents what type of trail and amenities they would like.
The county directed residents with comments or safety concerns to garrettcountymd.gov/pathways to submit suggestions. No formal action, funding decision or timeline was announced at the meeting.
