Bryan City Council approves appropriations, donations and multiple capital bid advertisements in unanimous votes

The Bryan City Council on Jan. 23 approved a package of budget amendments, grant applications, and authorizations to advertise bids for multiple 2025 capital projects, voting unanimously on each item called.

Council adopted Ordinance No. 3, 2025, an amended annual appropriations ordinance that corrected department allocations and appropriated donations and grant balances. The clerk/treasurer explained the ordinance adjusted three capital items that police and fire share 50/50 (dispatch door, Cisco internet upgrade and an HVAC compressor), appropriated $37,300 in donations for the Fountain City Amphitheater and made available $35,712 remaining in a probation grant that runs through June 30, 2025.

Council also approved a list of grant‑related resolutions that authorize city officials to apply for state and federal funds, including a resolution authorizing the Fire Chief to apply for grants and another authorizing the Parks & Recreation director to apply for a NatureWorks grant from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (intended for Lincoln Park work if successful).
