Chief Financial Officer Bowen reported significant December expenditures and revenue changes, including technology payments, vendor invoices, increases in state revenue tied to enrollment and at-risk funding, and a decline in federal revenue due to the expiration of one-time ESSER stimulus grants. Bowen told the board staff is allocating more than $250,000,000 across funds for FY26 operations.
As part of the financial matters approval the board considered a resolution authorizing procurements greater than $100,000 and change orders greater than $50,000; staff noted seven items totaling $6,780,000 with details available on BoardDocs. The motion to approve financial matters passed on a roll-call vote of 4-0.
The consent calendar — approved 4-0 — included approval of personnel; acceptance of donations totaling $900; approval of program-of-studies changes; adoption of an educational technology plan and approval of the 2025-26 school calendar (with school year beginning Aug. 25); and authorization for the division superintendent to sell a surplus bus to New Horizons Regional Education Center.
