The district’s 3–8 ELA proficiency was presented at 67% compared with 46% statewide, and 3–8 math at 77% compared with 54% statewide, according to slides Megan said were drawn from the New York State report card and SchoolMeter data. At the high school level, Megan reported strong Regents proficiency rates across several exams: English Language Arts (92% district vs. 79% state), Algebra I (93% vs. 62%), geometry (90% vs. 57%), algebra II (96% vs. 74%) and biology (86% vs. 62%).

Tiffany and others asked whether the higher opt‑out/refusal numbers in grade 8 math reflected students taking Algebra I instead of the grade‑8 exam; Megan confirmed much of the apparent opt‑out was due to advanced students taking Algebra I.
