Yorktown Board approves routine business, adopts 2025–26 calendar and multiple contracts

The board authorized the district to sign a whole‑for‑mless agreement with The Fresh Air Fund for Yorktown excursions during 2024–25 and approved an amended Red Oak Transportation Agreement for additional services for field trips, excursions and athletics for 2024–25. It approved several curriculum and professional learning items, including teacher professional improvement proposals and the district professional learning plan for 2024–25, and ratified placements and other education office recommendations presented that evening.
Gifts and donations accepted with gratitude included $849.70 from the Mohan Sik PTA for printing student directories and $50 from the Wells Fargo Community Cares Grants Program via the Black Bond Giving Fund.
The board moved to approve the Yorktown Central School District calendar for the 2025–26 school year; superintendent Ron Hatter said the calendar would be published to the community the next morning.
