Warren Adams, the citys Land Use Control Administrator, told the council the amendment is "really the first step in, addressing artworks throughout the city, and trying to move towards some sort of review process." The amendment, he said, clarifies what public art is and who can install it.
The planning commission held a public hearing and recommended approval, Adams said. The council opened a public hearing at the meeting, heard no speakers, and then adopted the ordinance by unanimous voice vote.
