West Valley High ASB reports leadership camp, awards, musical and fundraiser

Student representatives from West Valley High School delivered the Associated Student Body report to the board on Jan. 28, summarizing recent and upcoming activities.
Ava Ferguson (senior) and Katie Champy (junior) said ASB hosted a winter leadership camp for elementary students with more than 100 registrants and strong volunteer support from high school students. The night also included an academic awards ceremony where teachers nominated students for certificates.
ASB organized a winter pep assembly that recognized winter sports, and the school’s cheer team earned 11th place at the state competition. Upcoming events listed by the student representatives include the Tolo dance in early March, a course promotion night for student registration, spring sports registration, the musical Cinderella (opening the last two weekends of February) and the Mr. West fundraiser for Children’s Miracle Network. The senior class will host a reality fair for seniors on Feb. 11 to cover practical life skills.
Board members thanked the student representatives and noted the activities and engagement at the high school.
