Hardin County proclaims 'Timmy Carr Day'; EMS and 911 report year-end activity and revenue gains

- December responses: 1,391 total responses; 12 were transfers and 1,379 were 911 responses; of the 911 responses, 131 were non-transports.
- December collections: $654,889.
- Year to date (end of December): 8,352 responses (158 transfers, 8,194 911 responses) and year-to-date collections just shy of $3,500,000; Peterson said that compared with the prior year, call volume was down about 15% while revenue was up about 25%.
- Equipment: EMS took delivery of a new Tahoe and new remounts for ambulances; Peterson thanked Carr for his leadership and service.
Hardin County 911 report (Mike Leo)
- 2024 totals: 51,939 total 911 calls answered; 1,122,335 CAD events generated; 67,967 administrative calls.
- 2024 dispatch activity: 16,270 ambulance dispatches; 5,029 fire dispatches; 33,863 NCIC and linked transactions for the year, with 527,220 NCIC-linked transaction entries noted in the presentation.
- False and duplicate calls: Leo said about 11.8% of calls are duplicates (e.g., multiple callers for the same incident), and reported common pocket-dial and accidental 911 calls; the center attempts a callback and, if the caller cannot be reached and a location exists, will dispatch resources.
Why it matters: The EMS and 911 statistics show shifts in service demand and revenue flows (higher average reimbursement per billable run), plus operational changes in the 911 center to handle a rising workload of NCIC/warrants entries and linked transactions.
