The St. Mary's County Planning Commission continued the public hearing on concept/site plan case 13-110032, Cypress Park Minor Subdivision, to Feb. 24 after several neighbors said they had not received required hearing notices.
At the Jan. 13 meeting staff said the project had been posted and advertised per ordinance, but neighbors in the room — including a representative who said some homeowners associations had not been notified — asked staff to recheck and reissue notices to contiguous landowners. Planning staff and the applicant agreed to resend notices and to confirm the notice list prior to the rescheduled hearing. The commission continued the hearing to ensure full public participation and to avoid hearing a case when contiguous property owners had not been properly notified.
Earlier in the meeting the commission approved the minutes from the Dec. 9 meeting and conducted its annual election of officers, voting Howard Thompson as chair and Joe Van Kirk as co-chair; those procedural actions were carried by voice vote.
