A North Amityville resident asked the Town of Babylon Board on Jan. 29 to address chronic sewer and stormwater problems on Poplar Road, and to update the board on plans to improve the Amityville pool and nearby park space.
Latrelle Story, who identified herself as living at 10 Poplar Road in Amityville, said the sewers in her neighborhood are blocked, that stormwater regularly floods the street in front of her home after rain, and that wastewater sometimes backs up into sinks and tubs inside houses. She asked the town to investigate and clean the drains.
