The Saco City Council approved the minutes of its Jan. 13 meeting, adopted revised rules and order of business on first reading, and voted to enter executive session on a personnel matter during the Jan. 27 meeting at Saco City Hall. All formal roll-call votes on those items passed unanimously; the meeting later exited executive session and adjourned after a separate roll call.
The council voted 7-0 to approve the Jan. 13 minutes. Councillor Hatch moved to approve the minutes; Councillor Berman seconded. The council then took up the first reading of the council's rules and order of business, presented pursuant to Article 2, Section 208B of the city charter. Councillor Gunn moved adoption on first reading; a second was recorded. The motion passed on a roll-call vote of 7-0.
Later in the meeting Mayor Mary MacPhail and councilors voted 7-0 to enter executive session under Maine law for a personnel matter; the motion to enter was made by Councillor Hatch and seconded by Councillor Johnston. The council recessed to the conference room for the executive session and later returned; a subsequent motion to exit executive session passed on a 7-0 roll-call. There was no report from executive session when the council returned.
At the end of the meeting Councillor Johnston moved to adjourn; Councillor Edwards seconded. The roll-call vote to adjourn passed 6-1 at 7:55 p.m.; Councilor Parks was recorded as voting no.
