Millersville police report 321 calls, 5 criminal arrests and ongoing arson investigation

Millersville's police chief provided the department's monthly activity report Thursday, saying officers handled 321 calls for service in December and made five criminal arrests.
The chief said three arrests were of adults and two of juveniles. The department reported an 89 percent clearance rate for Part 2 offenses (16 of 18 cleared). Officers issued 22 traffic violations (including four for speeding) and investigated 15 vehicle accidents (eight reportable, seven nonreportable). The department also issued eight parking tickets and logged just over 2,300 patrol miles.
The chief told council of several ongoing investigations: an unattended death, a suicidal-person incident and an arson case under active investigation.
Council thanked the chief for the comprehensive report and asked no follow-up questions at the meeting.
