Council committee sends false-alarm definition to solicitor for ordinance drafting

Millersville Borough Council's public welfare and public works committee reported Thursday that it has compiled information about false alarms and forwarded a definition and supporting materials to the borough solicitor to draft a false-alarm ordinance.
The committee chair said the group had worked for some time to reach an "honest and true definition of a false alarm" and that the solicitor will prepare a proposed ordinance addressing fourth false alarms. The chair said the draft will come back to council for review and a decision on whether to adopt the ordinance as written.
Council did not take a vote on an ordinance at the meeting. Members discussed the next procedural step: once the solicitor prepares an ordinance draft, it will return to council for consideration and a possible vote.
