Loranda Ortega, director of curriculum and instruction, presented the Buena Park School District’s 2024 California School Dashboard summary to the Board of Trustees, outlining academic and equity indicators and new measures for English learner progress.
Ortega said the district’s English language arts status remained steady year over year but that three additional student groups moved into the red performance band in 2024: African American students, foster youth and long-term English learners. “For English Language Arts, we can see that overall our students maintained status as compared to prior year,” she said.
