Announcements and program notes
Board members highlighted several upcoming student and community programs. A project graduation dinner will be held March 1 to raise funds for graduating seniors. The board noted multiple facility-use agreements that allow community groups to use school facilities.
The meeting included a report on out-of-field teachers and substitutes; board members said the district was "erring on the side of caution" by over-recording out-of-field entries and that state reporting may show lower numbers when the state reconciles data.
The board also noted that HOSA students may send 20 students to Orlando for a competition; the item was presented as possible and contingent on eligibility and final arrangements.
The Education Foundation and Team Arcadia plan a free family program called Jumpstart Monday at the McSwain Center — a multiweek parent-involvement program that provides participating families with an iPad-like device upon completion. The board said the eight-week program is intended to help parents support student homework and learning.
A board member announced the district retained its Master Board distinction for the 2025–26 year and thanked staff. Quarter 3 school visits will begin next week; board members were invited to coordinate attendance through Miss Jen.
