Court revokes supervision for Darnell Heard, imposes two-year sentence with therapeutic-community recommendation

Darnell Von Heard pleaded true to a probation violation in the 187th District Court. Judge Stephanie Boyd found the violation proven, revoked community supervision and sentenced Heard to two years in prison. The court also credited him for time served and for successful completion of inpatient substance abuse treatment.
The court heard that Heard had completed prior inpatient treatment and that the violation involved failure to comply with drug-court related conditions. Heard told the court he struggled with substance use and self-sabotage. The judge ordered his sentence to include placement in a therapeutic community program and applied credit for 120 days in one program and 90 days for lifetime recovery program, as listed by probation.
The judge reminded Heard that probation is designed to rehabilitate and emphasized the need for continued treatment if released; the court recorded that the defendant waived appeal rights in connection with the plea agreement. The clerk will update records to reflect the revocation, sentence and time-credit adjustments.
