The draft calendar lists Thanksgiving break as Nov. 26–28, 2025; winter recess Dec. 24, 2025–Jan. 2, 2026; February break Feb. 16–20, 2026; and spring recess April 3–10, 2026. The district identified March 20, 2026, as a superintendent’s conference day on which students do not attend; BOCES, however, will be closed on March 18 for SkillsUSA-related activities. To prevent BOCES students from missing instruction, district staff said they will provide transportation to BOCES on March 20 so those students can attend their programs.
District staff also listed June 9–10, 2026, as grade‑3 testing days and said that state assessment and special Regents testing days will require adjusting high‑school schedules; presenters told the board high‑school students will not be in attendance on some testing days to maintain testing integrity. The school year’s last day was shown as June 25, 2026, with graduation on June 26.
Board members asked why the district’s conference day did not match the BOCES staff day; staff explained the difference was related to BOCES scheduling for SkillsUSA and to staffing considerations for the district. Staff also reviewed the district’s contractual snow‑day arrangements and explained how unused snow days may convert to a day off later in the year (commonly the Friday before Memorial Day) but noted state rules allow emergency exemptions for days lost to a declared state emergency.
The calendar was presented as a draft for board review and community communication; staff said they would continue to finalize details and communicate with families, especially about days that affect BOCES attendees and state testing schedules.
