Residents press council on alleged massage‑parlor trafficking; police chief says investigations are ongoing

During the citizen‑comment portion of Tuesday's Committee of the Whole, several residents urged the council to take stronger action against alleged human‑trafficking in local massage parlors and to ensure victim services are available.

Veronica Glass, who identified herself as a survivor of sexual violence, urged the city to “close them massage parlors and help the victims,” and asked the council to coordinate local law enforcement with the FBI and victim‑services units.
