Judge revokes probation balance for Richard Jackson after stipulation to violations

Judge Tammy Long Hayward revoked the remaining balance of Richard Jackson’s probation on Jan. 28, 2025, after defense counsel stipulated to the violations listed in the petition for revocation.
Jackson had been sentenced in August 2023 on counts including criminal trespass, damage to property and battery (family violence). The petition listed multiple failures to report to probation (dates spanning late 2023 and 2024), failure to complete 40 hours of community service, incomplete family-violence intervention coursework (3 of 24 classes documented), and unpaid financial obligations. Defense counsel told the court Jackson experienced job loss and housing instability that contributed to his inability to complete probation requirements.
Defense counsel stipulated to the violations and to the probation officer’s recommendation. The court noted the balance at the time of the petition (one month and 24 days) and announced it would revoke the balance. The judge granted credit “since the date of lockup” for any time Jackson had already served in custody; after service of the committed time the case will be closed.
The court advised Jackson to seek employment and to avoid further conduct that could lead to additional charges. The clerk will enter the court’s revocation order and the case will be closed after any committed time has been served.
