Commissioner Meacham told the court that the county has scheduled a grand reopening for the renovated courthouse on March 28 in the afternoon and that most work should be complete by then.
Meacham said the remaining items include new doors, window shades, a few light fixtures and other punch-list items. He said the man lift failed inspection and is being addressed. For the annex work, Meacham reported progress at the Iowa Park site, where wall framing is up and the county will begin sheetrock soon.
Commissioners discussed door finishes and a backup plan if doors are not delivered in time. Meacham said doors were ordered unfinished and would be stained to match existing finishes; he noted one office had discussed a darker door color but that the county planned to keep the ordered doors for now. The court did not take any formal action on the renovations at the meeting.
Meacham also noted the March 28 reopening date coincides with the two-year anniversary of a water release event referenced in county records; no additional follow-up tasks or votes were recorded.
