South Fayette introduces Dr. Kelly Oliver as new director of student support services

The South Fayette Township School District board formally introduced Dr. Kelly Oliver on Jan. 28 as the district's new director of student support services, a position the board approved in December.
Dr. Kelly Oliver, director of student support services, told the board she spent time meeting district staff and visiting schools and left those visits “energized.” "I look forward to meeting the rest of the staff and stakeholders, to being part of this student centered organization and to making my contributions to innovative practices that will drive South Fayette into the future," Oliver said. The board said her first day will be Feb. 14.
Superintendent Dr. Miller summarized Oliver's qualifications for the board and community, noting Oliver holds multiple graduate degrees, a Ph.D. in instructional management and leadership, and a Supervisor of Pupil Personnel Services certificate. The superintendent said Oliver brings experience from Beaver Area School District, Hopewell Area School District, Columbia County Educational Services and as a part‑time instructor at YSU.
The board announced meet‑and‑greet sessions in March so parents and community members can meet Oliver. Board members and staff welcomed Oliver and her husband, who attended the Jan. 28 meeting.
No vote was required; the hiring action had been completed at the December meeting when the board authorized the appointment.
