The Spalding County Board of Commissioners on Jan. 27 tabled consideration of a joint-sponsorship agreement with the Georgia Department of Transportation and the City of Griffin for Phase 2 utility relocation related to the Griffin-Spalding Regional Airport.
County staff and the county attorney told commissioners they had negotiated with GDOT on prior versions of the agreement and requested additional contract language changes. After a recent conference call with GDOT legal staff, county counsel and staff were expecting revised language. The county attorney asked the board to table the item so the revised agreement can be returned for a more accurate form for approval. The motion to table was approved by the board.
Ending: County staff indicated a revised agreement will be brought back when GDOT completes requested edits.
