Spalding County Planning Commission elects Upshaw as chair, Ballard as vice chair

At its Jan. 28 meeting the commission elected Miss Upshaw as chair and Mr. Ballard as vice chair in unanimous votes. The new officers took the chair and vice‑chair positions at the start of the meeting.
The Spalding County Planning Commission opened its Jan. 28 meeting by electing new officers. Commissioners unanimously chose Miss Upshaw as chair and Mr. Bruce Ballard as vice chair.
Nominations were opened by the county zoning attorney and followed formal motion, second and voice-vote procedures. The roll-call vote was recorded as 4–0 in favor of both officers; commissioners Hardwick, Ballard, Upshaw and Bryant voted in favor of the slate.
After the election Miss Upshaw assumed the chair and called the meeting to order for the evening’s agenda.
