The Beaufort County Finance, Administration and Economic Development Committee on Jan. 27 approved its meeting agenda and approved the Nov. 25, 2024 minutes without objection. The committee also approved the county’s 2025 Hawkers and Peddlers license fee schedule and forwarded that item to county council.
At the start of the meeting the chair asked for a motion to approve the agenda; the agenda was approved without objection. The minutes for Nov. 25, 2024 were moved, seconded and approved without objection.
For the annual hawkers and peddlers fee item, presenter Mr. Atkinson said the county was proposing the same fees used in recent years: county vendors $75, out‑of‑county $500 and out‑of‑state $1,000. Atkinson said the program produced $450 in fees in calendar year 2024. The committee approved the fees and moved the ordinance/fee schedule to county council for final action.
The motions were approved without roll‑call tallies recorded in the committee transcript; the meeting record shows unanimous consent with no objections noted during the committee session.
