Financial aid workshop set for Jan. 28; school posts scholarship spreadsheet for students

Gabriella, a student host on the school morning bulletin, announced a financial aid workshop led by Casper College experts on January 28 from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the school library.

The workshop will offer help filling out federal and state college aid applications, described during the bulletin as the “FAFSA or a CADA,” and will be available in both English and Spanish, a staff member said. The staff member urged all seniors planning to attend college — community college, four-year college, or vocational programs — to come to the session for application help.

Mister Noderman, who spoke later in the bulletin, said the school maintains a scholarship spreadsheet that is updated regularly and can be emailed to students on request. He named an “ABC Foundation Scholarships” program available to Antelope Valley students planning to attend Antelope Valley College and said Caltrans scholarships are limited to Kern County students.

Mister Noderman said students who cannot scan the spreadsheet from the bulletin can request it by email and that he posts new scholarship entries on a regular basis. The bulletin did not provide an email address for requests.
