Pierre, S.D. — On second reading and final consideration the South Dakota Senate approved Senate Bill 25 unanimously, updating the state plumbing code to the 2024 version of the Uniform Plumbing Code.
Senator Crabtree, who brought the bill from the Department of Labor and Regulation, told senators the state has been operating under the 2015 version and that adopting the 2024 edition "is beneficial to South Dakota's plumbing industry because it offers guidance on new equipment and technology." He urged support and the Senate recorded 35 yays and 0 nays on the roll call.
