Student representative Frankie introduced the district’s new junior board representatives and summarized recent activities across the high schools during the board meeting’s student-representative update.
Frankie welcomed Rick Marshall (Coffin representative), Nancy Shalash (Jerome representative), Noah Reinhart (Scioto representative) and noted that Aziel Musa (Emerald Campus representative) was not present. "Already, they're working great with each other, and, we're happy for you guys to meet them. So welcome," Frankie said.
Frankie reported the Coffin Winter Formal theme is Northern Lights and will be held on Feb. 8. Jerome was marking Guidance Counselor Appreciation Week and the Freshman Mentor Program was making posters for counselors. At Scioto, the theater program had closed a production of Titanic: The Musical and was hoping to take it to the state conference; Scioto basketball hosted its annual Morgan's Message doubleheader game against Kilborn. At Emerald Campus, IB psychology students were conducting experiments as part of their internal assessment.
Frankie also noted a visit from OSU STEM education students who spoke with DTA students about college programming, education as a major, and student teaching experiences. "That is all we have tonight. Thank you," Frankie concluded.
The board thanked the current senior representatives for helping run the recruitment process and welcomed the new junior representatives to upcoming activities.
