Julie, the district's director of human services, briefed the board on recent legal and staffing compliance matters at the January meeting.
She told trustees that the Illinois Pay Transparency Act, which amends the Illinois Equal Pay Act and requires employers with 15 or more employees to include pay scale and benefits information in job postings effective Jan. 1, has been implemented across district postings. "In compliance with the act, we have updated all job postings and gone a step further by creating a publicly accessible pay transparency website," Julie said.
Julie also reported that a federal district court in Kentucky recently vacated the 2024 Title IX regulations. The district is monitoring guidance from the U.S. Department of Education, the Office for Civil Rights and legal counsel to determine any impact on local policies.
On staffing operations, she said the district has partnered with Verifint for employment and commercial financial verifications and scheduled training this month to support the upcoming hiring season. Julie also told the board the district renewed its affiliation agreement with College of DuPage through Oct. 30, 2029.
Finally, Julie said the district will promote employee testimonials on social media as part of recruitment efforts to attract a diverse and qualified workforce.
