Council refers several building- and fire-code amendments to Public Services Committee
Summary
First readings of ordinances updating multiple sections of the municipal code on building and fire code adoption and aboveground tanks were referred to the Public Services Committee for review.
The City of Cheyenne governing body on Jan. 27 read several ordinances for the first time and referred them to the Public Services Committee for further review.
The ordinances were introduced as first readings and cover multiple updates: amendments to chapters 15.8, 15.9, 15.10, 15.12, 15.16, 15.22, 15.24, and 15.26 of title 15 (Buildings and Construction) to update specified building code requirements and make technical corrections; amendments to chapter 8.12 (International Fire Code adopted) of title 8 (Health and Safety) to update the city—s adoption and amendment of the International Fire Code; and an amendment to section 8.24.020 to clarify and further regulate installation of aboveground tanks and containers.
Each of the items was referred to the Public Services Committee for additional consideration; the council did not debate the substantive details of the code language at the Jan. 27 meeting and did not adopt the ordinances at first reading.
